Car giant Honda has introduced a black edition of this model in the UK market, particularly in the Civic series. The exterior as well as interior of the Honda Civic Black Edition have some upgrades from its previous model to enhance the look of the car and make it look more aggressive than any other model. Now let’s look at some specific modifications that the manufacturer introduced with the Civic Black Edition.

Exterior Styling

Honda Civic Black Edition which signifies the exterior color, is a crystal black pearl that gives the car an aggressive look. The black paint job is very cool for the Civic and it almost felt like the car was an entirely different kind from what we get to see on the streets daily.

The black treatment for the car does not only end at the paint but also the alloy wheels also have a piano black glossy finish and a machine faced surface. The front grille is another area that sees changes and it is painted in a black chrome finish.

At the rear, the boot lid spoiler is installed, and it is discreet in design. Taking everything into consideration, Honda has done a good job in giving the new Civic a sporty appeal through these exterior modifications.

Interior Updates

Inside, the Honda Civic Black Edition is equipped with sleek black leather seats with red stitching that serve to increase the sporting character of the vehicle. Red lighting matches the striping of the lights and runs across the entire instrument panel – it is also clearly visible against the dark interior.

To match the interior styling changes, the interior of the steering wheel is red stitched. Especially, the red stitching details are delightful, as they stand out and add performance to the touch and feel of the cabin.

Engine and Gearbox Options

For the Civic Black Edition, the company has opted to continue the use of the 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that has been time-tested and accepted by consumers; the engine will be mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. There will be no default button and no way of just ticking a box to make it happen.

I believe that this is a rather wise decision on my part as the manual gearbox goes hand in hand with this car’s aura of sportingness. The engine in question produces a reasonable 142 PS of power and 174 Nm of torque, which should be just enough to enjoy a few performance runs.

Yes, in my opinion, Honda did the right thing here by avoiding any complications and offering a derivative with just one sporty powertrain.

Expected Pricing and Availability

The Honda Civic Black Edition is expected to be priced a couple of thousands of pounds higher than the standard model. It would probably retail somewhere around £21,000 considering the above factors.

More specific details will be released by Honda on the pricing, perhaps when they are planning to launch the car which is expected sometime this fall. All things considered, that looks like a fairly realistic price for me to pay for the exterior and interior enhancements along with additional features that are incorporated in the Black Edition compared to the standard Civics available in the current market in the UK.

Regarding competition, it would compete with so-called sporty derivatives of family cars like the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra, or Volkswagen Golf.

Conclusion

The most improved model in the standard compilation is the Honda Civic Black Edition, which features the black passion and black gloss along with the sporty interios. I actually have been receiving updates from Honda and it looks like a proper sporty model for the fans of the Civic series.

They should also provide fun while driving due to the manual gearbox and tuned handling. I would not rule out the fact that many UK buyers looking for something more than ordinary family cars would consider the Civic Black Edition as their next vehicle.

It also features practicality, efficiency, and sportiness all in a single package.
