Congratulations, everyone! We have the long-awaited update on the Volkswagen Tiguan! A favorite of passengers in the American market since 2007, this second-generation small SUV debuted in 2016. It has taken VW proving their commitment for 8 years now, and the third-generation Tiguan will be out at next week’s Los Angeles Auto Show.
The new Volkswagen Tiguan debuts on November 20 at 8:00 PM ET.
As is customary with teasers, even a brief look at the car with its masking intact shows us very little; it reveals only the back of the SUV and its new taillight design. However, all these changes suggest a new distinctive look inspired by the revised graphics found in the subcompact Taos, Jetta, and the radically redesigned ID.4.
As of yet, the details are few and far between, but Volkswagen has stated that the new Tiguan will be on the MQB Evo platform. If one wants to have some preview of what is in store for them, one may have to look at the European Tayron, which was first introduced in October. However, it is important to state that the US Tiguan will come amended with some changes regarding the body, power, and features.
Regarding the engine types, the European Tayron has a rich offer: hybrids and diesels are also available. Few specs are known; however, it is estimated that the standard version will go for around 200 horsepower with a four-cylinder engine base. More about the development process of the Tiguan family will be released soon – keep on reading our articles!
