Hope you got to see the Maserati Kubang live at the Beijing Motor Show or at any of its other appearances because it’s soon going to disappear.
Actually, the Maserati SUV will live on, with almost no changes to the styling and a few updates to what’s being done to the interior and performance.
What will change is the name, one which is yet to be announced, and its status. With the Beijing Motor Show coming to an end, the Kubang will no longer be a concept.
From here on, the Maserati Kubang is a pre-production model and will likely stay hidden for a bit of a while.
That’s a period of time that wasn’t defined yet we do knowh that the 2014 Detroit Motor Show will be when it has a “final” debut.
Production is also scheduled to begin in 2014 so maybe some images, videos or spyshots will be available before that. Who knows, maybe they’ll even to a “teaser” like Bugatti.
Until anything really happens, the only thing we’re left with is the rather vague words of Maserati CEO Harald Wester.
The Maserati Kubang should appear as a production car in “due time”. Since production seems to be key here, it would probably be important to mention where it’s to take place.
Craftsman built in Italy seems like a very unlikely option since the new SUV is expected to sell in numbers that are very large for Maserati.
That’s why Detroit has been rumored more and more as being the ideal location where the birth of the Kubang’s “real” version will take place.
