The new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat was revealed and has been recently rated at an astounding 707 horsepower, making it the most powerful muscle car available in the market today. Dodge came into the automotive industry as the babysitters norm when they released this monster of an engine that enables the Challenger Hellcat to hit 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph.
Unreal Power and Torque
To think that a mass-produced car could produce over 700 horsepower is quite mind-boggling. This will also put out 650 lb-ft of torque that helps the Challenger Hellcat feast on straight lines and engage in tire churning. Being a real car enthusiast who appreciates the might behind the engine, I am thrilled about what Dodge’s engineers have delivered to the market. Merely getting behind the wheel of this four-wheeled monster would be the peak of their joy.
Interior Refinements
The engine alone makes the cut, but to get the attention off it, Dodge also improved the interior, using higher-quality materials and incorporating new technology. The Challenger Hellcat, as standard features, features a 7-inch customizable display, uConnect infotainment system with navigation, and performance steering wheel and shifter paddles. Basically, the designers of this car manufacturer succeeded in packing all this into the muscular body that the fans enjoy so much, without sacrificing the powerful styling and bold appearance. This leads to an overall package that brings out the muscle car image to the T while at the same time having all the benefits of modern day cars.
Again, the implication is not just that music can be consumed at an increasingly fast straight-line pace.
With such powers from those monster-like cars, many people would wish to see these cars just dominating in terms of acceleration from a standstill. But the SRT engineers tuned the adaptive suspension and stability control systems for it, and the Challenger Hellcat can pull 0.88 g on the skidpad. This means it has legal level handling capabilities to address the absolutely off the chart horsepower figures. Handling for those who might want to take this Dodge through canyon roads or dominate the racetrack, this machine can do a lot more than just the monster burnouts.
It’s time to always raise the bar and strive to do better than before.
Let’s take our hats off to Dodge for raising the performance bar even higher with the over-the-top Challenger Hellcat. A few years ago, who would have imagined that a car built in a factory, typically an American car, could produce over 700 horsepower? Dodge now has a car with more horsepower than the Ferrari Enzo or Lamborghini Aventador! It also has a more attainable price of roughly fifty thousand dollars, which is significantly less than any supercar. If we’re talking about power to the dollar, there is not a better bang for your buck than the Charger Challenger Hellcat. I look forward to seeing one and hearing the sound of its Hemi engine, though I’m not sure which one is beastlier – the engine or the car.
