2015 Volkswagen Passat officially launched

The German automaker has officially revealed the new 2015Volkswagen Passat. It is the eighth generation Passat and brings fresh technologies along with a new range of engines.

At first glance, 2015 Volkswagen Passat looks lighter and sleeker. It is based on the modular MBQ chassis architecture from Volkswagen and is actually 188 pounds lighter than the previous version, as well as slightly shorter. This model is even lower, wider and more spacious than its predecessor.

2015 Volkswagen Passat’s engine lineup includes two versions of the 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged producing 123 or 148 horsepower, a 1.8-litre TSI delivering 177 hp and a 2.0-litre turbo that develops 217 hp. Diesel powertrains are also available – we’re talking about a 1.6-litre TDI rated at 118 hp, a 2.0-litre TDI in 148, 187 and 236 hp variants. There is also a plug-in hybrid version with a power output of 208 hp and a 600-mile combined range.

2015 Volkswagen Passat will also get LED headlamps and tail lamps and a couple of new safety features, such as Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, City Emergency Braking, Traffic Jam Assist, Emergency Assist and Trailer Assist. We can find inside the car an “Active Info Display” system and a head-up display.

Deliveries of 2015 Volkswagen Passat will start at the beginning of 2015, with price ranging around 25.000 euros.
