The new Peugeot Quartz concept has been uncovered before making a public appearance at the Paris Motor Show next month. The vehicle is based on the EMP2 platform and has a daring exterior styling.
The most notable thing about Peugeot’s Quartz concept is its 500 hp hybrid drivetrain. The SUV is powered by a four-cylinder 1.6 THP turbocharged petrol engine rated at 270 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque and an electric motor that produces 115 hp. It also makes use of another 115 hp electric motor mounted at the back.
The all-electric driving range is 50 km. In Road mode, the concept uses the THP engine and the front-mounted electric engine, while in Race mode the Quartz can use the combined output of the petrol engine and the two electric motors.
Peugeot Quartz Concept is 4.5m long and 2.06m wide. It rides on 23-inch alloy wheels and has received LED headlights, double rear spoilers mounted on the roof, short overhangs and many red accents that continue inside the car.
The cabin of the Peugeot Quartz concept Quartz is equipped with a head-up display and a compact steering wheel with controls for changing drive modes and shifting gears.
