The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLK has been captured on camera while it was being tested out on public roads. The vehicle in question will reportedly be sold as a GLC model in order to reflect its position in the C-Class line of cars.
The second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLK will be slightly larger than the outgoing model and will have a longer wheelbase as well as a wider track. It is expected to ride on the same platform that underpins the W205 C-Class .
Codenamed X253, the new Mercedes-Benz GLK will probably be offered with a series of engines borrowed from the C-Class, including a hybrid powertrain. An AMG variant of the GLK will also be available sporting the company’s new 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine. The car will even get a right-hand-drive configuration.
Inside the cabin, the Mercedes-Benz GLK comes with more space for the passengers and a large infotainment screen.
This Mercedes-Benz GLK will likely make public debut next year. Competitors will include the BMW X3, the Audi Q5 and the latest Land Rover Discovery Sport.
