The 2015 Volkswagen Passat has entered the market, a midsize sedan that has been given a design overhaul and additional features to attract midsize sedan consumers. I am a big Volkswagen fan myself, and it is always good to notice enhanced features on one of their models.

Sleek New Styling Cues

The new Passat has a new stylish front end incorporating Volkswagen’s distinctive grille and LED headlights and daytime running lights as options. To my mind, all the above mentioned changes in the car styling provide the Passat with a refined obscurity that is appropriate to the Volkswagen logo. A new bumper has also been provided at the rear and new tail lamps have also been provided that match the front lamps. In general, the new Passat looks just fresher and is the representative of a higher class.

Higher Efficiency and Fuel Consumption Ratio

Under the skin of the 2015 Passat, buyers will be still able to choose between regular petrol and diesel powerplants. The available gasses are a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with fuel economy in mind and a 3.6-liter VR6 for that extra power. I’ve driven several Volkswagen TDI diesel models over the years and I am glad that the company has not dropped the diesel passat for those of us who are looking for optimum fuel economy. Volkswagen believes that its highway fuel economy rating is unmatched among all the cars it produces, whether gasoline or diesel.

New Interior and Modern Tech

Inside, the Passat receives better quality materials and available dual-tone color options to give that lift to the car’s interior ambiance. By observing the pictures, one can only imagine that the seats are comfortably padded and provide support. Other infotainment and safety technologies have also been boosted in the generation of Volkswagen’s with the latest MIB II system, rearview camera, forward collision warning, and blind spot monitoring, among others. This should assist the Passat in offering comparison to midsize rivals with similar features housed in the car.

Expanded Model Range

The Passat increases its lineup for 2015 with the R-Line trim, designed for those in search of a sporty drive as I was. In the R-Line, there are exterior and bumper designs which make it distinctive from other models, 19-inch wheels, and lowered sport suspension. There is also going to be a new Passat GT model which is to feature a more powerful variant of the VR6 engine. This will effectively replace the previous V6-engined Passat VR6 model in a way.

Same Family-Friendly Practicality

What separates the new car from the old one is a much better sense of style and equipment and yet the car’s packaging and versatility could not be bettered by Volkswagen. However, there are still copious amounts of rear seat legroom and trunk space for families or young athletes. Such a utilitarian aspect and those German accents in the Volkswagen cars such as the Passat have always been my kind of car.

The 2015 Passat looks like a winner The New York Auto Show was awash with the latest models from the automotive industry and among the latest was the 2015 Passat.

Getting its most extensive changes in nearly four years, the 2015 Volkswagen Passat seems set to duke it out with the best midsize sedans. In my capacity of an auto writer and Volkswagen owner, it is rather gratifying to observe that this new Passat possesses a new sleek look, an upgraded interior, an extended model line-up, and advanced technology. Regarding the pricing, it has not been released, but the Passat has always been one of the more affordable cars in the midsize category. The new Passat aims to continue that tradition and should suit buyers looking for German quality without the premium prices. I am eagerly waiting for an opportunity to test one of these very soon.
