With more and more customers turning their attention towards the SUV segment, plenty of car manufacturers worldwide have started building exclusive models that would cope with the heavy demand.

The Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo unveiled the gorgeous Stelvio SUV at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the model becoming a serious candidate for other well-known SUVs from the segment.

Finally, the all-new Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV has been recently announced for Australia, the model arriving in dealerships countrywide, starting with the first quarter of 2018.

All variants, including the top of the line QV, will be equipped with an all-wheel drive system and eight-speed auto, which will fuel-up their turbocharged engines.

Speaking of engines, the standard 2017 Alfa Romeo Stelvio is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol flat-four engine, with 149 kW and 330 Nm of torque, managing a 100 km/h sprint in just 7.2 seconds.

On the other hand, the mid-entry level comes with a 2.2-liter turbo diesel, with 156 kW and 450 Nm of torque, and a 7.6 second sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. This is also achieved thanks to a top speed of 210 km/h.

Finally, the 2017 Alfa Romeo Stelvio QV SUV sports the same high-performance 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 mill, also powering the Giulia QV. The performance translates in 375 kW and impressive 600 Nm of torque, meaning just 4.0 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. As for fuel-consumption and CO2 emissions, the Italian carmaker is yet to release the info in early 2018.

With a splendid design at the exterior, with elements taken from the Giulia range, the new 2017 Alfa Romeo Stelvio is absolutely an enjoyable car to drive, with extremely comfortable seats inside, high-end materials and plenty of technological gizmos.

The driver and passengers are also welcomed with the optional Super Lusso package, meaning Pieno Fiore leather, walnut wax accents and heated steering wheel. Australians will also get the Veloce package, with sports seats and aluminum trims all around. Prices will be revealed at a later date, prior to the car`s arrival in dealerships next January.
