The French carmaker has officially revealed the R.S. 01 racecar at the Moscow Motor Show. The supercar weighs less than 1,100 kg and sports a carbon-fiber monocoque body that was developed in partnership with Dallara.
Renaultsport R.S. 01 features a prominent Renault logo on the front, 18-inch Michelin tires, a large rear wing, LED daytime running lights, a dual exhaust setup and an impressive rear diffuser. Other highlights include a steel roll cage, several cooling ducts and a double wishbone suspension with pushrods and Ohlins dampers.
Performance wise, Renaultsport R.S. 01 is powered by Nissan GT-R’s twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 engine tweaked by Nismo which generates more than 500 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. All this power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed Sadev sequential transmission which enables the car to hit a top speed of more than 300 km/h.
This new French racecar will appear in the company’s one-make Renault Sport Trophy Series which begins next year.
Pricing for the Renaultsport R.S. 01 starts at 282,000 GBP.
