A plug-in hybrid version of the Audi Q7 has recently been caught on camera, with camouflage on its body, while putting in a few laps at the Nurburgring.
The SUV manages to be up to 400 kg lighter, which helps provide better performance.
Styling-wise, the 2016 Audi Q7 plug-in hybrid features a redesigned front grille, sweptback headlights and revised taillights. It has also received dual exhaust talpipes and a sloping roofline. Significant changes will come on the inside as well.
Technical details are still to be disclosed, although reports suggest that the upcoming Audi Q7 plug-in hybrid will likely use a 3.0-litre TDI V6 engine working together with an electric motor to offer a combined power output of 373 PS and 516 lb-ft of torque. With this hardware setup, the crossover will have a better fuel consumption and will be able to travel on electric power for more than 50 km.
The 2016 Audi Q7 plug-in hybrid is expected to be launched sometime next year.
