Audi has fully revealed the E7X during Auto China 2026 in Beijing, closing a presentation cycle which started in early December 2025, when the China-focused AUDI brand first previewed the electric sport utility vehicle. This model follows the E5 Sportback shown last spring and becomes the second product under the Chinese AUDI line, while also marking the first sport utility vehicle in this branch of the business.
The new E7X takes its shape from the AUDI E SUV concept first displayed during Auto Guangzhou 2025. Size places the vehicle firmly in the upper segment for the local market. Wheelbase reaches 3,060 mm, body length stands at 5,049 mm, width reaches 1,997 mm, and height comes in at 1,710 mm.
Two drivetrain layouts enter production. One version sends 402 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque through rear-wheel-drive. A second layout uses quattro, lifting output to 671 horsepower and torque to 800 Nm. Audi links the stronger version to a 3.9-second sprint from standstill to 62 mph. Both versions use a 900-volt architecture developed through the Audi and SAIC partnership.
Battery choice depends on two packs, either 100 kWh or 109 kWh gross capacity. In the longest-range version, the E7X reaches 466 miles, or 750 km, measured under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle, CLTC. Charging speed stands out too. Under ideal 4C charging conditions, both battery packs move from 10 to 80 percent in 13 minutes.
Inside, Audi offers two seating layouts. Buyers choose either a five-seat family-focused arrangement or a four-seat configuration aimed at business travel. Audi calls the seat system zero-gravity seating. According to the company, seats unfold “into a deeply relaxed lounge position with a maximum recline angle of 120 degrees, supported by a 23-airbag pneumatic adjustment system and a 16-point massage function for the back and cushion.”
Rear passengers receive a 21.4-inch entertainment display which folds down from the headliner. Bose Performance Series audio uses 26 speakers. Audi says screen deployment triggers several cabin responses, including dimming the panoramic roof, reclining seats, and changing ambient lighting. Control works through voice input, remote access, or touchscreen input.
A curved 27-inch 4K display stretches across the dashboard between both A-pillars. Cabin trim includes open-pore chestnut, natural wood, oak wood, Nappa leather, and microfiber. Audi also developed an artificial intelligence companion together with ByteDance. The company states the assistant “goes well beyond voice control.” Range questions, navigation support, vehicle tasks, and broader conversations all sit within the system.
The E7X rides on the Advanced Digitized Platform. Audi adds full-vehicle over-the-air updates, connected vehicle functions, and integration with China’s digital ecosystem. AUDI 360 Driving Assist uses lidar and local calibration developed together with Momenta for Chinese road conditions.
Sales begin in China during the first half of this year. Pricing stays undisclosed. Audi notes the E5 Sportback sells for around $44,000. A third Audi-SAI C electric sedan is planned for next year.
