The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 is simply the craziest car out in standard muscle car land. It’s also the most powerful and fastest one of the lot.
We’ll talk about why that is later on but for new let’s focus on the good news. The Blue Oval has announced its price and put up an online configurator for it.
Along side the new price list, we also get some extra details about the sort of stuff you can customize about the specs of the GT500.
Pricing starts at $54.200 and goes all the way up to $66.485 to which you’ll have to add the $795 destination charge.
Regardless of which price range you find yourself in, you always get the new supercharged aluminium 5.8 liter V8 under the bonnet.
That ensures that you have 650 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque under the bonnet and that you can push the loud pedal so much that it takes the car all the way up to 200 mph.
On the easily more usable front the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 gets the Sync infotainment system, voice-activated navigation ($2.340) and a very powerful sound system featuring three Shaker Pro subwoofers ($1.295).
In the optional field you can get Recaro front seats if you’re willing to spend an extra $1.595. The SVT package adds another 3.495 dollars and a glass roof costs another 1.995.
They all sound like nice options but the one that weirds me out is the one which Shelby offers up a full car cover. This might be one of the first Mustang models they’ve actually considered simply storing away.
Now that’s a surprise.
