Fernando Alonso is one of the best drivers currently in Formula 1 and that was seen in his win at the Malaysian Grand Prix last weekend.
The car is not very competitive, the conditions were very demanding and the very quick Sergio Perez was constantly breathing down his neck.
Still, the Ferrari driver managed to take the win. This is something Ferrari decided needs a reward.
I’m not saying Alonso shouldn’t be rewarded but being given a $356000 Ferrari FF might be a little excessive. Alas, a marketing exercise it is.
The Ferrari FF is the newest prancing horse in the stable. It features a new, special kind of four wheel drive system and can properly seat four people and take their luggage.
This model received a mixed welcome upon launch and there’s not too many enthusiasts that are pleased with all the compromises made in the car.
As it is, the Ferrari FF was sent over the Fernando Alonso as a gift and we’re guessing it will find itself in the rest of the cars the F1 driver was gifted.
The list includes a custom 458 Italia, a Maserati GranTourismo Convertible, an Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari and a special edition Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.
It’s a nice setup and though I may be impressed with those cars, there’s a lot of hate going on over him receiving those cars for free.
Given his current salary, he’d be able to buy each and every one of those cars with about two weeks pay.
