Cars & Coffee is a very interesting event at the beginning of each year’s summer and it’s actually a better show than the name would suggest.
It takes place at a location in Irvine, California and this year it’s the host to the debut of the Hennessey Venom GT’s Spyder version.
The coupe version debuted at the same venue last year so it seems that the Texan tuning company is actually quite capable of sorting out its release dates.
In introducing the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, a few differences easily appear. The lack of a roof is actually just part of it.
It now comes with a visible part of the rollcage sticking above the side windows every time you take the roof off, which kind of spoils the look.
Not very relevant since pretty much nobody is buying a Hennessey Venom GT for the look of it but it is one of those annoyances.
Another one of these annoyances is in the fact that the privilege of driving a targa top will add another 150.000 USD to the price tag.
Congratulations to Hennessey Performance who now make their one million dollar car. Oh, it’s 1.1 million to be exact.
Still, having 1200 horsepower in a car that weighs less than 2700 pounds probably hits you with other sensations than a desire to be practical.
I mean, how many times can a person say that their new supercar is featured on every single magazine cover this month and it’s even on the front of a very special racing game.
