The latest addition to Toyota’s Auris family, dubbed Auris Cross, was captured on camera while it was being tested out on the Nurburgring.
The Auris Cross seems to retain much of the exterior styling from its predecessor. Some notable differences include larger alloy wheels with high-profile tyres and an increased ride height.
Nothing is official but previous reports suggest that the new Auris-based crossover will take its power from a 1.6-litre four cylinder petrol engine with a power output of 130 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque. Hybrid variants may also be on cards, with the same 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain rated at 136 bhp that we have seen on the current Auris.
The car was initially rumoured to be a front-wheel drive only, but thanks to some new information, all-wheel drive could be an option on higher-spec models.
Details are limited but Toyota Auris Cross is expected to be introduced to the public next year. This car model will supposedly be a serious challenger to Honda HR-V.
