Japanese appetite for cars is insatiable. And this is no secret to auto producers in Germany who take matters very seriously. For instance Mercedes-Benz and BMW are engaged in a race to exploit the Japanese passion for unique special edition models.
Almost every week now a new special model belonging to one of the two great car producers is specially tailored for JDM. This week as we will see below it is Mercedes’s turn. Potential buyers or simple fans have been introduced to the S550 Premium Sports edition in Japan.
The car will go on sale later this month. For picky buyers the special edition car will be available exclusively in Obsidian Black or White Diamond.Production will be limited to 200 units and pricing starts at ¥18,100,000 ($169,330 / €132,500).
And the S550 Premium Sports edition is quite the car. Based on the long-wheelbase S550 it features the AMG sport package. Also part of the arsenal are 20-inch AMG alloy wheels.
Moving inside the cabin it’s all about sporty attitude. Magic is provided by black Nappa leather seats, a leather / wood steering wheel and designo ash wood trim .
Executive rear seats, heated armrests, a rear seat entertainment system, heated seats and more features made especially for passengers who love the Mercedes brand will be available in the chauffeur package.
