Great news coming now from Volkswagen. The new Golf R Variant has been introduced. Though scheduled to debut during the Los Angeles Auto Show the car has been unveiled before the great event.
“A winning combination of practicality and performance”, is the way in which producers describe the sporty variant of the Golf R.
Power is provided by a 2.0-liter TSI petrol unit with 300 PS (221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft). As far as speed goes, with the new Golf R Variant the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint takes only 5.1 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) and, great news, the sporty wagon consumes 7.0 liters per 100 km.
As far as exterior aspect goes, the new Golf R Variant is quite different from other Golf wagon models. Feature list counts the new R design bumper, four chrome exhaust tips, LED taillights, license plate lighting and a high-gloss black diffuser. And hold tight because this is all for the rear of the car.
A new R design bumper with large air intakes, a distinctive radiator grille with R logo and Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated daytime running lights are the ingredients that make the Golf R Variant’s face look just great.
Magic is present inside the cabin too as the Golf R Variant comes with sport seats with a fabric and Alcantara mix with decorative stitching in crystal gray and an R logo on the seat backrest. Passengers confort is insured by automatic air conditioning and an infotainment system with display on the center console, blue ambient lighting.
