The next generation BMW M5 has been spied recently. The vehicle was seen while returning to the test center at the Nürburgring and photographed for the joy of car fans all over the world. As known by now the new vehicle will be availabe for sale towards the end of 2017.
Under hood arsenal promises to be a plus with the new M5 as the car will come with a twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter engine that will offer no less than 626 PS (460 kW). Torque is estimated to go beyond 700 Nm (516 lb-ft).
While the new M5 will have aproximately the same size as the current model the superb car is expected to be much different as a new CLAR (Cluster Architecture) is bound to bring a major decrease in weight. Basically the new BMW M5 will be 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter.
While the vehichle will benefit from a rear-wheel drive a premiere is expected with the launch of the new car. More to the point the new M5 will come with an optional xDrive setup that will be rear-biased.
Thus via this system the engine will provide power to the front axle only when extra grip will be necessary.
