The fourth largest South Korean car manufacturer SsangYong has promised to bring the all-new Rexton SUV at the ongoing 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, and so it happened today, with the model being well-received and appreciated. Now it is up to you to decide whether you dig the new model or not.
Compared to the first-gen Rexton released back in 2001, the new model does promise a lot in terms of design and technology inside, not to mention the improved performance under the hood.
Set to arrive in Europe next month, the new 2018 Rexton will be priced from 27,500 Euros, if you choose the standard EX manual. The top of the line Ultimate will cost 37,500 Euros, and will feature an automatic transmission.
The new model is based on the LIV-2 Concept, meaning a more evolutionary design – new grille, wider headlights or muscular lines – and plenty of space inside the cabin. Speaking of space, there are no less than seven-seats that occupants get to enjoy, not to mention the plethora of technology – we should mention the massive 9.2-inch screen for the infotainment system, satellite navigation or smartphone connectivity.
In the safety area, the new 2018 Rexton comes with the new Autonomous Emergency Braking system, 3D Around View Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection.
Performance wise, the 2018 SsangYong Rexton is equipped with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine, hooked to a seven-speed automatic transmission. On the petrol side, the new model also comes with a 2.0-liter turbo, paired to the company`s new Aisin sic-speed automatic transmission.
