Arriving in Europe next month, the all-new 2018 Mercedes-AMG C 43 both the coupe and cabrio are announced with a series of updates, including a power boost, which differentiate them from the previous generation.
Sitting between the AMG 62 and the top of the line C-Class, the new AMG C 43 is powered by the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, now producing 287 kW and 520 NM of torque, available between 2,500-5,000 rpm.
Putting all that power to the ground is the job of a high-performance nine-speed 9G TCT automatic transmission working in tandem with a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, with 31:69 front-to-rear torque distribution setting. The coupe sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds while the cabriolet is a tad slower with 0.1 seconds.
Mechanically, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG C 43 in both forms comes equipped with the carmaker`s latest AMG Ride Control Suspension with adaptive and adjustable dampers which improve driving capabilities and safety. There is also the three-mode driving system – Comfort, Sport and Sport + – working with four-link front and multi-link rear suspension system.
Inside, the cabin welcomes you with premium leather upholstery, Dinamica microfiber, aluminum, as well as the high-performance AMG Performance seats with lateral support. Technology wise, there is also the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a wide range of onboard features controlled through the new Touch Control system.
From a visual standpoint, the new AMG C 43 looks extremely hot and aerodynamically-advanced with the new twin-tier AMG grille in iridium silver at the front, along with updated front bumper bar, new side skirts and lightweight alloy wheels. There is also the new rear apron with new side air outlets, colour-coded lip spoiler on the boot, quad-outlet exhausts finished in high-gloss chrome.
Prices and other specs will be released in April, once it will arrive in Europe. However, deliver will begin in July. Stay tuned for incoming info!
