At the 2018 SIAB, Romania, the all-new 2019 Volkswagen Touareg SUV was the main attraction of the show, with all the eyes being on the car`s exquisite design language and high-tech interior. And for that, it is considered one of the best SUVs on the market at the moment.
The all-new 2019 Touareg has also had its “15 minutes of fame” in China, just prior to its arrival at the Beijing Motor Show. This come after a long teaser campaign.
Compared to the previous model, the new 2019 Volkswagen Tuareg is state-of-the-art both at the exterior as well as inside. The body style is now represented by the ‘IQ.Light’ – LED matrix headlights which come with interactive, camera-based dipped and main beam headlight control, adding as well evolutionary and flowing design lines which make it more appealing.
Standing on the company`s new MLB Evo platform, the SUV is also bigger and wider, with the cargo capacity inside being expanded to 810 liters.
The 2019 Touareg is fully-loaded with a wide range of safety features, like Night Vision and Roadwork Lane Assist, Front Cross Traffic Assist, and much more. As for technology it incorporates, we should mention the “Windshield Head-up Display”, active all-wheel steering, 12-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver and 15-inch screen with media functionality in the center dash. All these new high-tech gizmos are part of the so called “Innovision Cockpit.”
As for performance under the hood, the new model is equipped with no less than two V6 turbodiesels, with power between 240 PS and 286 PS, adding as well a V6 petrol engine with 340 PS. There is also a V8 diesel with 420 PS. In China, Volkswagen will also launch a plug-in hybrid variant with 370 PS, shortly followed by a European variant later on this year.
