The upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 has recently been caught in new spy shots wearing its own body shell. The vehicle in question had previouly been spied while being tested in the new C-Class body structure.
Although the prototype is heavily covered up, we can still see that the new E-Class will feature sportier styling and will be closer in design to the S-Class and the C-Class.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 is expected to be more luxurious than the current version. It will ride on the company’s MRA platform which also underpins the C-Class. It will feature an extended wheelbase as well.
On the mechanical front, the next generation E-Class is supposed to come with a series of six-cylinder petrol engines. The AMG GT’s new twin-turbo V8 4.0-litre engine is rumoured to power the next generation E63 AMG. The transmission will likely be a nine-speed automatic.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class W213 is believed to be officially introduced to the public towards the end of next year, before going on sale in 2016.
