Mini’s cars are small and pretty expensive for their class. That may be an accepted fact, but it’s far from the sort of cost demanded by this particular one.
As part of the 2012 edition of the annual Life Ball charity event in Vienna, Austria, this final Mini Roadster will have gone for a lot of money at the auction held there.
Here’s hoping you’re sitting down. The compact drop top Mini Roadster went to an unnamed buyer for the grand sum of 69.000 USD.
For that kind of money you can get a BMW Z4 with the best engine and a couple of extras thrown in as well.
Yeah, but that’s just the cynical part of us. Let’s not forget that the proceeds of the Mini Roadster will be headed towards finding a cure for AIDS.
Oh and don’t think that’s the whole reason for this Mini Roadster going at this sort of price. There’s a lot of exclusivity to consider.
This particular Mini was especially customized by one Franca Sozzani and completed with a lovely flower motif, matte deep purple paint.
There are also some gold accents in the wheels and a couple of racing stripes in the same color. The same finish is available for the side view mirrors.
Beyond this point, there’s just a Mini Roadster Cooper S under the customized sensation. The 184 horsepower, 192 lb-ft of torque 1.6 liter turbocharged four pot is the same.
Still, if you’re the lucky gal for who this car was purchased, you’re probably all excited by it.
