BMW i3 is yet another step in the auto industry for a pollution free future, while owners still get to enjoy the same driving experience from the past, for which the company is famous. Being an electric car it’s price range is around 41,350 USD or 34,950 EUR.
The i3 is described by the producer as „the perfect vehicle for urban environments in the megacity: driven by pure electric power and customised for the requirements of a sustainable and emission-free mobility”.
While looking like a minivan, the city car is a combination of lightweight materials. BMW i3’s passenger cell is made from carbon fiber reinforced polymer as the mechanical structure underneath is held toghether by an aluminum structure.
Fit for no more than four passengers, the i3 is 62.1 inches tall, 70 inches wide and 157.4 inches long, thus fitting in the C segment. The inside of the i3 is an inspired mix of wood, leather on the seats and vegetable fiber on the door cards.
BMW rates the i3’s motor at 170 horsepower. As far as charging is concerned, just 30 minutes of DC charging will provide you with 80% of the juice.
