The French electric carmaker Venturi showcased its America buggy at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The vehicle was previewed by a concept which was unveiled two years ago.
The two-seater is 4125mm long, 2060mm wide and 1450mm tall. The wheelbase measures 2670mm. The America has a 280mm ground clearance and its weight is 1,525 kg.
The Venturi America benefits from a carbon Kevlar aluminium chassis and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Latitude Sport tyres.
Powering the Venturi America is an electric motor capable of delivering 400 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. The sports car will be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 14 seconds before hitting a top speed of 220 km/h. With the 53 kWh Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack, the vehicle has a maximum driving range of 250 km and a full recharge takes 3.5 hours. Venturi’s America will be offered with a rear-wheel drive setup.
The company will build the America model in a limited run of 25 units, each carrying a price tag of £290,000.
