The upcoming McLaren P1 GTR has recently been previewed through a conceptual sketch. Only current P1 owners are given the possibility of placing an order for the GTR version which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the legendary F1 GTR.
Based on the limited edition McLaren P1, the track-only P1 GTR benefits from a more aerodynamic body kit that includes an impressive rear wing and a massive diffuser. Some other tweaks like wider wheel arches, larger dual exhaust pipes, a large front splitter, more aggressive side skirts, a lower ride height and racing slicks will add performance to this sports car.
2015 McLaren P1 GTR will most likely be powered by an upgraded version of the P1’s twin-turbo V8 3.8-litre engine working together with an electric motor for a combined output of 985 hp.
This British supercar will be showcased at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August.
Deliveries of the new McLaren P1 GTR will start next year at a price tag of 1.98 million pounds, which also includes a fully comprehensive racing program.
